Woke up to sunshine and the bluest of Spring skies, definitely something to smile about. First things first, after breakfast we head outside. Our street is pretty quiet, except garbage day, so the girls wanted to ride/scoot so we don helmets and go to the road. Aurelia is way too bold on her scooter zooming down the hill, even one handed and waving at us! We also went up to see the chickens.
While Lorelei napped Aurelia did more “school work” as she calls it. Today she was really into numbers so she did some of her work book in the numbers section. Some days she will sit down and work for an hour, like today. Other days she has zero interest. On days like today, I go with it and let her choose whatever she wants to learn about, so numbers it was!
After lunch and when Lorelei was awake, we needed stamps. I asked the girls if they wanted to go for a wagon ride and the answer was a very loud yes! Jonathan helped me carry the wagon out of the basement and we packed some snacks and went on a beautiful 2.2 mile round trip to the post office. We stopped and said hello to the ponies, donkeys and goats. Met the new owners too which was exciting! Then we also threw carrots out to our ponies, the electric fence is on so the girls won’t put their hands through, hence the throwing of carrots, haha.
Something else cool about our place, is watching all the different ducks come back for the spring. We have seen pairs of common merganser, hooded merganser, mallards and wood ducks. They all love fishing near the rocks and also sitting on the rocks enjoying the sun.
Just another great day here in paradise, enjoying each others company…
