I think the first dip in the river marks the first day of summer here… so hello summer! We had a high of 90.9F so that definitely made us jump in the river. But our day started with collecting our flags to put away until Fourth of July, very epically and then checking on the lilac bush… so close to full bloom!

Then during the heat of the day after Lorelei woke from her nap we ran some errands up in West Lebanon, like returning Aurelia’s skis and boots finally. Driving by Mascoma Lake we saw so many boats and beach goers in the water we decided to take a dip at home!

Lorelei keeps me on my toes… hence the PFD on her now! And Aurelia just wanted to practice her swimming so lots and lots of splashing. We just stayed in the backyard today, as it was pretty close to dinner time. But I can’t wait to take them down to the swimming hole when I have time. And then we had a lovely grilled dinner outside. I don’t want to jinx it but I must say… the bugs this year have not been bad at all! It has been pretty dry the last week, maybe that helped and the late frost?
