Woke up to a beautiful NH morning. Jonathan made a yummy hash, eggs and bacon brekkie, I added the pancakes and fruit!

When it is this nice out and with a nice breeze it is the perfect day for pony rides. Then after pony rides and Lorelei woke from her nap we decided to finally attempt the hike up Bog Mountain here in Wilmot. We have only lived her coming up to seven years, so it is about time!

It was the perfect day for it, cool and breezy so no bugs! The hike is 1.1 miles to the top and if you like you can continue down the other side and arrived at a different destination to where you park. We just went up and down the Bog Mtn Trail today from Stearns Rd. Thankfully I decided to carry Lorelei, it would have been too much for her little legs, lots of rocks and tree roots, and too much vertical gain for her. Aurelia did great, with lots of stops to explore and observe, she made it to the top in an hour. We spent about 20 minutes at the top, it was quite windy and dark clouds threatened us with rain but we didn’t get wet in the end. There is a cool ledge with views of Mount Kearsarge and then at the top you have views to the south. Apparently if you keep hiking the other side you can find a ledge with views to the north. Overall a great little hike if you are not in it for 360 degree views and so close to home!

Then the big first night of bunk beds here! Here’s hoping the girls stay in their beds and sleep in tonight haha!
